About

Leila Eslami is an Industrial PhD candidate working jointly with Aalborg University and WS Audiology. She joined WS Audiology as part of her PhD and has a background in biomedical engineering and signal processing. She has worked on advanced signal processing methods, including adaptive beamforming and filtering techniques for ultrasound signals.

Research interests

Her PhD research focuses on intention-based conversational partner detection and enhancement for hearing-aid users. The work aims to identify which speaker a hearing-aid user intends to engage with in multi-talker environments by analyzing spatial and temporal information, as well as behavioral and acoustic cues such as turn-taking patterns and voice activity dynamics. The research intersects audio signal processing, conversational interaction analysis, and probabilistic modeling, with the goal of improving communication for users in complex and real-life listening situations.
